Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3 (NLT)
In his book, Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote: “It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in.”
Begin each day in God’s presence, surrendering to him your anxious thoughts and needs so you can be filled with His incomparable peace. Put Him first, then wait expectantly, knowing He is handling every detail of this new day.
Thought for the day: “The prayer offered to God in the morning during your quiet time is the key that unlocks the door of the day. Any athlete knows that it is the start that ensures a good finish.” – Adrian Rogers
