Welcome!

Unfinished

My child, don’t reject the LORD’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:11-12 NLT

Discipline

Not easy to dole out

Hard to receive

No one likes to be reprimanded, reproved, or redirected. Our pride suffers a blow. Our ego balks at the correction

Because we think we know better

Yet God urges us to accept, to embrace, to welcome His discipline because it stems from a heart of love

God’s discipline is designed to make us

a better spouse

a better parent

a better co-worker

a better neighbor

His correction is intended to fashion you and me into a reflection of Himself

And therein is the blessing:

That God loves us so much, He doesn’t want to leave us unfinished.

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for your work in our lives – even those tough moments when you have to correct us or redirect us. Every day, you are working to make us more and more like you.  Make me sensitive to your correction Lord so that I might be a vessel that is pleasing to you and useful to your service. In your name we pray, Amen.

Thought: “Anytime we feel not good enough we deny the powerful truth that we are a glorious work of God in progress. We are imperfect because we are unfinished.” – Lysa Terkeurst
