Welcome!

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. Psalm 34:15 ESV

Last Sunday, I noticed a couple sitting across the aisle from us. At one point, a nursery worker entered the sanctuary with a crying baby. Though his back was turned to the doors, the young father immediately jumped from his seat and headed to the back. He didn’t have to see the crying child to know it was his, because he recognized his son’s voice.

In the same way, our heavenly Father hears us. He recognizes His children’s voice. He is attentive to our cries. You and I are not just another face in the crowd. We are His beloved. Like the father in church who immediately recognized his son’s cry, so God recognizes the voice of each of His children and He leans His ears toward our cries.

And though, at times, we might have no language but a cry, even then He hears and responds.

Prayer: Father in heaven, we thank you for your love. You know each one of your children personally, intimately, and you recognize our voice. Help us to live in that love, confident that You see, you hear, and you respond. There is nothing, not even the weakest cry, that escapes you. Because You are a good, heavenly Father. In your name we pray, Amen.
