Welcome!

Take Refuge in Him

“The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him.” Psalm 37:39-40 ESV

Because they take refuge in Him. Isn’t it comforting to know that God does not dole out His loving care according to our merits or worthiness? If He did, we would all be in trouble for none of us is worthy of His grace (Romans 3:10). Rather, He offers salvation and protection to anyone who turns to Him for refuge.

I don’t know where you’re at today. Perhaps your world has been shaken and the future seems uncertain. Remember that nothing takes God by surprise. Through the peaks and troughs of life, He is steadfast, our one constant when our world is falling apart.

Be it once, twice, or a hundred times a day, return to the comfort of His loving arms. As often as it takes, keep going back to Him. He’s got you.

Prayer:  Lord, in the face of all that is uncertain right now this one truth remains, that you are faithful to those who turn to You for refuge. Though the path head is unclear to me, I have no cause for fear for you are already there, preparing the way for me.

Thought: “Every day, the Lord Himself is near me with a special mercy for each hour; all my cares He fain would bear and cheer me, He whose name is Counselor and Pow’r. The protection of His child and treasure is a charge that on Himself He laid; ‘As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,’ this the pledge to me He made.” (Lina Sandell, ‘Day by Day, And With Each Passing Moment’)
