SALTED: PURE & HOLY

Guest post by author C.A. Simonson

Exodus 30:35,36 – “…make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be SALTED, PURE, and SACRED. Grind some of it into a powder…most holy to you. Consider it holy to the Lord.”

The incense the Israelites used is symbolic of our prayers to God. Our salty tears season our prayers with praise and thanksgiving, repentance, love, and humility. They become sacred to God as He collects the tears of His saints and saves them in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). He records every one of them. He knows our heartaches and sorrows. He feels our pain. He understands. Our prayers are sacred and holy.
