Welcome!

He’s Not a Part-Time God

“They (ancestors) did not ask, ‘Where is the Lord who brought us safely out of Egypt?”

Jeremiah 2: 6,8 (NLT)

Jeremiah’s message from God began, “I remember how eager you were to please me.” Alas, the Israelites quickly strayed, forsaking the Lord and His commandments to worship worthless idols. “They became so comfortable with their ‘religion’ that they didn’t even notice God’s absence” (Blackaby, Experiencing God Day by Day, pg 5).

It is unfortunate that many people get their ‘dose of religion’ on Sundays but fail to include God in their week. They are too preoccupied with the mundane to heed God’s voice or look for Him in the midst of their daily lives.

How God longs for a relationship rather than a religion. He yearns to be a part of every moment, every decision, every struggle, every victory. He is not a part-time God, but a loving heavenly Father who longs to be welcomed into every part of our day.

Today, pay attention to God’s presence. Keep the prayer line open and chat with Him as you go about your day. Include Him in your decisions. Laugh with Him, cry with Him. Just don’t set Him aside until Sunday.
