“And He saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them.” Mark 6:48 ESV
And He saw . . . Three words that speak hope into my heart. Jesus saw the storm, the swells and massive whitecaps, the forceful wind. He saw the disciples’ struggle, their exhaustion as they pulled against the oars. He saw their fear, their anxiety, their unspoken question: Where was Jesus?
It is oh so easy, when problems assail us, to wonder that very same thing. Where is Jesus in this mess, in this struggle, in this storm? He’s in the midst. He hasn’t taken His eyes off of you. Rather, He’s been watching you every second, urging you to press on.
And He saw . . . He sees your worry, your anxiety, your exhaustion, your fear for the future. He sees how hard you’re struggling to stay afloat. Don’t give in. Don’t give up. Press on, my sister. Press on, my brother. Not only does your Father in heaven see you, He sees the bigger picture. He sees the victory, the blessing, the miracle, that are waiting for you just around the bend.
