Getting Your Tank Full

Guest Post by Author C.A. Simonson

A small child was asked to explain the meaning of thankfulness. He pondered for a moment, and then declared, “I think it means having your tank full. Because when your tank is full, then you can be “tank-full.”

If you stop and think about it, we do have our ‘tanks full.’ “He daily loads us with benefits….” (Psalm 68:19). King Solomon experienced this truth and exclaimed, “The faithful man shall abound with blessings.” (Proverbs 28:28)

The benefits and blessings of life can be taken for granted. Busy with a hectic lifestyle, many tend to worry about the cares of life and worries of the world and forget to be thankful for what they do have. Failing to see the real blessings of each day, they rush and scurry about without pausing once to give thanks for just being alive and well.

The Bible teaches that if we know how to give good gifts to our children, then our Heavenly Father knows much better how to give us good things. God offers eternal benefits that are beyond our imagination…exceedingly, abundantly above all you could ask or think.” It has not even “entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those that love him.” (I Corinthians 2:9)

God daily loads us with blessings. Eternal life is offered through the Living Water and the Bread of Life that feeds and fills us for eternity. What benefits! David penned, “…my cup runs over…” (Psalm 23:5) Indeed, our tanks are full.

“Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us with benefits” (Psalm 68:19)

“Every good and perfect gift comes down from above…” (James 1:17)
