Welcome!

Dwell

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

I recently read this powerful quote from Andrew Wommack: “Don’t just visit. Dwell in the presence of God.”

This statement got me thinking. You see, in a world that is so changeable, in a political climate that is fraught with uncertainty, I need more than a Sunday-morning God, One who conveniently fits into my weekly schedule but doesn’t ‘interfere’ with my lifestyle, my beliefs, or my relationships. I need a God who is more than a checkmark on my to-do list, a God with whom I meet every morning for Scripture reading and prayer then part ways with as I tackle the remainder of my day. I need a God who invites me to dwell – to settle – in His presence, not just for a moment, but throughout the day. I need a God who permeates every portion of my life. A God in whose arms I can find protection and shelter from the storms of life. A God who doesn’t leave me to walk the valley alone. A God who fights with me in the trenches of life. A God who supplies my needs, who collects my tears, who hears my cries for help, who reaches down and lifts me out of the pit. I need a God who opens the door wide, welcomes me in, and says, “Welcome home.”

Prayer: Lord, I invite you into every part of my day and in every corner of my heart. Permeate every portion of my life until the day you take me home to live with you eternally. Amen.
