“Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, ‘Send me David, your son, who is with the sheep.” 1 Samuel 16:19 (ESV) David – the kid who hangs out with the sheep. Though God had chosen David as the future king of Israel, Samuel had anointed him in front of his family, and though the Spirit …

Who Is God to You?
As we walk through life, God reveals one particular aspect of His divine nature according to our current situation and needs. The more we learn about Him, the more He becomes undefinable. One name is not sufficient to encompass our understanding and knowledge of Him.
WALK IN THEIR SHOES
At times, it seems difficult to understand and love those whom others consider unlovable, but God will give me the courage to do so. I know he will help me become more aware of what I can do for others instead of thinking about what I can’t do.
Following Jesus
“A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick.” John 6:2 (NLT) What drives people to follow Jesus? Some are just curious. They want to hear what He has to say, then pick and choose whatever fits their beliefs or lifestyle. Others follow Jesus …
Laughter
God wants to fill our mouths with laughter—not superficial, temporary amusement that washes away with the next wave of emotions, but genuine and buoyant joy that can withstand the storms of life.
Choosing to Trust

Escaping Bondage
“Let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.” Numbers 14:4 (ESV) The people of Israel were unhappy, to put it mildly. When faced with the prospect of fighting the giants in the land God had promised them, they grew frightened and rebelled. So they cried out, “Would that we had died in the …

What Size is Your God?
We live in a society that tends to put people in boxes according to gender, age, race, skills, and education… Sadly, many of us do the same with God. We diminish God to a size our finite minds can handle. We set limits on His ability to work wonders in the world, our country, our neighbor, our homes, and our lives. Those miracles He worked for the Israelites were pretty awesome, but He doesn’t do stuff like that nowadays, right? Nothing is further from the truth. God still works miracles today.
