“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Lord, our nation needs you! We have drifted far from your commandments and followed the desires of our hearts. Yet in your mercy, do not abandon us.
Today we bring the needs of our government before you. Guide our leaders. Help them choose right over wrong, seek wisdom more than power, and resist the temptation to use their position to act in ways that are contrary to your Word.
We pray for our president. Incline his heart towards you. Influence his decisions and actions to align with your Word. Grant him wisdom and discernment. May he lead with honesty and integrity. Surround him with wise counselors. Place your hand of protection over him and his family.
We pray for our vice president, the Cabinet, and the Supreme Court justices. May their rulings allow us to live out our faith and convictions without opposition. May your power and presence flow through the halls of the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court Building. Sway their decisions and help them rule with justice and equity.
We pray for those in law enforcement. Watch over them, protect them. Help them abide by the laws they’re sworn to protect. Grant that we might live in peace as You intended.
In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.
